Can we get married
on the beach in the sand?
Of course! We offer several
locations at each resort and the beach is always an option. During
your consultation, your Wedding Consultant at the resort will show
you the possible locations and help you pick the perfect one.
What are the
wedding sites on property?
Most of our properties offer a
beach, a garden and a gazebo location. The location is the couple’s
choice. It can be as private or public as you wish.
What is the flavor
of the wedding cake?
You have a choice of vanilla,
chocolate or Caribbean fruit.
What is the best
way to travel with a wedding dress?
Any arrangement for
transportation of a wedding dress should be discussed directly with
your airline carrier. The Dessy Group has designed lightweight
dresses perfect for travel exclusively for Sandals.
Does the resort
offer a steaming or pressing service for the wedding dress?
There are off property
services that will handle the steaming of the dress. Prices are
determined on the size, detail and material of the dress.
When do we meet
our Wedding Consultant?
You will receive a letter from
the Wedding Consultant during check-in informing you of your
interview time with your consultant, which typically takes place
within the first two days of arrival.
Can we be married
in our swimsuits on the beach?
While your wedding attire is
entirely your decision, swimsuits & beach wear are not considered
acceptable wedding day attire by the Marriage Officers who perform
our marriage ceremonies.
Is the wedding a
legal marriage, recognized in our state and/or country?
Yes, the marriage is a legally
binding marriage. You should inquire with your local government
regarding name change procedures, etc.
When will I
receive my marriage certificate?
Your marriage certificate will
be sent via air courier 8 - 10 weeks after your wedding.
If I purchase from your online shop, will they be
sent to the resort where I am staying?
The most convenient way to shop for Accessories is
through your Wedding Consultant. She can have the items you purchase
ready and waiting for you at your resort. Due to customs
requirements anything you purchase online or on your own will need
to be shipped to you prior to your wedding and you will be
responsible for bringing with you to the resort and also carrying
home. While there are items available at the resorts for purchase,
it is always best to purchase them with your Wedding Consultant
prior to traveling to ensure you have the items you want.
Why are specific occupations required for the
bride and groom?
Specific occupations are required in order to
process the marriage license, as they will be stated on your
marriage certificate.
Do we need to hand carry our documents to the
resort?
Original documents are required to be hand carried
when going to any of our resorts in the Bahamas, Antigua, Turks &
Caicos and St. Lucia. You do not need to hand carry documents to our
resorts in Jamaica.
If I am a U.S. Citizen, do I need to have a U.S.
Passport to travel to the Caribbean or will my birth certificate or
naturalization papers be sufficient?
Effective January 23, 2007, the US Department of
State and Homeland Security requires all travelers to and from the
Americas, Caribbean, and Bermuda to have a Valid Passport. Non - US
citizens should contact the airline regarding the specific entry
requirements that apply to their nationality.
Can we bring our own wedding music?
We provide a limited selection of music; however you
are more than welcome to bring your own CD’s.
Do you offer tuxedo rentals at your resorts?
We do not offer tuxedo rentals on property; however
some resorts have contact information for local formalwear
providers. Keep in mind, you are traveling to a resort with
Caribbean climates and may want to consider a light weight
alternative for your groom.
If the wedding is free, why did I receive a bill?
All room reservations will be reviewed 60 days prior
to travel. Once your room category is confirmed, all rates will be
adjusted. |
